Group Play
Let's make a party
Users constantly want to communicate with others.
Users are increasingly eager to communicate and enjoy themselves with others using their devices. Group play apps are designed to satisfy these needs.
Group play allows users to play music with friends. Users can connect more devices at one time. Users even could share files, games, and pictures with friends. Galaxy S4 concept is focused on people. As a UX designer, I considered users’ relationships with others and a sense of joy that can be shared for viewing a new feature and app.
How could we provide a fun and exciting way to communicate?
My Role
I participated in this project as a UX designer. It teamed up with various related departments to participate in the entire service planning and design process to launch its functions in the actual market.
What I do
- Conduct Research
- Defining Design Principles
- User Key Value & Scenarios
- Visual & Interaction Design
1. Without using mobile data, what other ways could be considered for connecting people
The Group Play feature was created with a focus on establishing strong ties amongst GALAXY S4 users. With this function, users directly connect with other GALAXY S4 users to enjoy music and games together without the worry of data usage.
2. Find a new feature that is not just simple, but fun
In fact, too many sharing applications in the market, we need to find and develop a new and fun experience for users for competitiveness. Previous applications shared the same music contents, but music sharing in Group Play application supports surround sound experience.

INTERACTION DESIGN
Learn from the project
Group Play is one of the most social new features on Samsung's Galaxy S4 smartphone. I also think that I had valuable experience in receiving various ideas and feedback through interaction with team members while working on this project. It was a project that I also learned deeply about the essential values of communication and communication as a project member through the task of encouraging people to communicate freely. UX can continuously update by developing an app that can download for the following devices and it is considered for various devices and more users to use it.

...it looks like this thing is going to be a pretty devastating device. It’s fast, slim, and has a ton of great features! One of the coolest new aspects may just be Group Play, a feature that allows you to share files with other devices in the same group.
